Production Drilling
We offer column drilling machines that incorporate special features which are essential for meeting present day production demands. These machines with their massive and rigid construction, ease of operation and control, fulfill a definite need when thousands of components have to be drilled per shift.
They have proved themselves over a number of years in the Indian industry as very reliable, robust production drilling machines. These machines are also available with Hydraulic Feed Units. This ensures rapid feed to a set depth (setting by limit switch) and rapid return to home position after finishing drilling. Hence, holes can be produced in very high volumes at lower cost, accurately.
Case Study-01
We were approached by leading manufacturer of 2-wheelers for providing a solution for drilling 36 holes in a motorcycle hub. After careful study of the production rate and cycle time our design team came up with a Special Purpose Production Drilling Machine as shown in picture below.
This machine is designed to drill 36 holes (18 per side) in 18 seconds. Using Multi-Spindle Heads, these special purpose machines was built to reduce CYCLE TIME, thereby increasing productivity.
When you use a PREWO SPM, for drilling and tapping the possibility of missing out on an operation is NIL: They are far more cost effective than machining centers, though similar production rates are achieved, simply because the cost of tooling for an SPM is much less. Furthermore multi heads can be mounted on SPM spindles, whereas they cannot be used with Machining Centers
